CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION

Since 1925 users in the Counties network area have shared in the cost of building the network as well as sharing in the benefits it has provided. Since incorporation, the company has remained owned by those people connected to it.

Users connecting a property to the network for the first time are required to pay a Capital Contribution. Payment of Capital Contribution means that existing users do not pay the extra costs of connecting new developments. It also ensures that customers with the new connections share equitably in the benefits of the network that the community has built up over the decades.

New users may be connected to the same point you are, but allowance has been made for this in assessing your Capital Contribution.

Counties Power will not generally connect power to a property until any Capital Contribution owing has been paid. You can check with Counties Power whether this payment has been made.
